3 days · driving times are approximate
Day 1 · Approx. 5–6 hours by road
Nairobi to the Maasai Mara
Your driver-guide collects you from your Nairobi hotel or the airport in the morning for a short safari briefing. The road climbs to a viewpoint over the Great Rift Valley before descending to Narok, where there is a stop for lunch. You reach the Maasai Mara in the afternoon and head out on your first game drive as the light softens across the plains.

Day 2
Full day following the migration
Spend the day in the reserve with a picnic lunch. In the migration months your guide heads for the areas where the wildebeest and zebra are concentrated and, when the herds are gathering, the Mara River crossing points. Crossings are unpredictable and can take hours to happen — or not happen at all — so the day balances patience at the river with time following predators and other wildlife.
