Climbing Kilimanjaro

Kilimanjaro is Africa's highest mountain and the world's tallest free-standing mountain. No technical climbing is needed to reach Uhuru Peak (5,895 m), but altitude, cold and a long summit night make it a serious undertaking.

How many days?

More days on the mountain mean better acclimatisation and a better chance of reaching the summit. Our published itineraries are the shortest standard versions of each route; we recommend adding an acclimatisation day where possible.
