    Nairobi to Samburu

    Leave Nairobi after breakfast and drive through the coffee and tea country of the central highlands, past Mount Kenya and down to the Laikipia plains and semi-arid Samburu. After lunch and a rest at the lodge, an afternoon game drive in search of reticulated giraffe, Grevy's zebra and Beisa oryx.

  2. Day 2

    Full day in Samburu

    Morning and afternoon game drives with a break at the lodge in the heat of the day. Samburu offers good chances of leopard along the riverbanks and the northern specialists known as the Samburu Special Five: Grevy's zebra, Somali ostrich, reticulated giraffe, gerenuk and Beisa oryx.

  3. Day 3 · Approx. 5 hours by road

    Samburu to Lake Baringo and Lake Bogoria

    Drive west to Lake Baringo, a freshwater Rift Valley lake known for its birdlife, hippos and crocodiles, then continue to Lake Bogoria, where hot springs and geysers steam along the shore.

    Lake Bogoria to Lake Nakuru

    Stop at Bogoria's geysers in the morning light, then continue with a picnic lunch to Lake Nakuru for an afternoon game drive. The park is one of the few places in Africa to see both white rhino and the rare Rothschild's giraffe, and over 400 bird species have been recorded here.
